Sun In The Sky. Earth At My Feet.

Now granted I didn’t spend my day defacing decorating the city like some people that doesn’t mean we didn’t do anything fun today. We started out at the farmers market as per our usual Saturday morning routine and although there isn’t any fresh veggies yet it’s still nice to get out and see the regulars strolling from table to table. Then a quick visit with Grandma and Grandpa Captuo before heading home to some french toast. Nothing beats french toast made from home made whole wheat bread topped with maple syrup. Then it was time to prepare for the days big adventure. Sidney and Olivia made a list and I packed the cooler and canteens and we were off to cottage country with Grandpa Caputo to visit uncle Brett.

Of course I couldn’t help myself and we stopped by the farm to see how things are going. It is much greener than the last time I was there and just standing in the driveway I saw a hundred things I couldn’t wait to get into. Patience isn’t really a virtue I possess and I have no problem at all admitting it. After getting dragged back to the van we were back on the road and made it safe and sound. By this time the girls were pretty hungry so we whipped up a campfire and Grandpa imparted all his knowledge of the mighty spider-dog (see below for photo evidence). We cooked a few of these over the campfire and chased them down with some lovely toasted marshmallows. The girls both did a great job and delighted in roasting more and more of them for us until we couldn’t eat any more. Then off into the woods to spy on the trilliums, look for any trees that we may have missed cutting down in the fall and collecting fallen birch bark from the ground. Then it was time to do a bit of cleanup work and get the canoe and paddle boat out of storage and carried down to the dock before stopping to watch Solla the wonderdog go for a swim. She didn’t seem to mind the cold at all as the water is still quite chilly this time of year. Olivia had a wee nap part of the way home before we stopped for a Popsicle and home just in time for dinner and an early bed. The little ones seem to be quiet already. I leave you with many photos from the days adventures and a hearty night, night.

Agreed. That’s why I changed it to decorating! My fav is the squished snake on the train tracks!

That house is super cool (although a little futuristic for me). I went tractor shopping today. How’s that for fun?
