Called On Account Of Snow.

Here we sit at day two of school bus cancellations and things are windy and wild out there. There isn’t a ton of accumulation happening but more than enough to require blowing the drifts from the driveway. The girls were a tad surprised this morning when I told them the buses were canceled yet again but after breakfast they were more than happy to go frolic in the snow. I was of course was happy to take the tractor and snowblower out for the first time this year and even happier to go for a few laps around the yard on the snowmobile. Of course there is just barely enough for snowmobiling but I just couldn’t resist any longer. I was probably not much older than Sidney the last time I was on a snow machine but I do recall the ride ended with the snowmobile on it’s side up against a fence. The best part (or worse part as it may be) was the older person taking me on the ride was in a full leg cast which of course was pinned under the overturned sled forcing me to walk through the fields back the the house to get help! Hopefully there are no future blog updates about the kids having to make the trek home to get Corrie to come pull me out from under the sled.

    I think the high here hit mid 90′s on the 10th. I know I was soaked in sweat that day/

    There’s something I miss: seasonal weather changes.

    The barbecue just gets a little less ‘barbecuey’
    :{

    We missed out by just that much. About an hour north at Corrie’s dad’s place they got 4 feet on Thursday. You read that right. FOUR FEET! How awesome would that be?

    i’ve only seen snow twice in my life.

    Both times unexpectedly: May 1992 in North Carolina
    and April 1998 while driving to Dusseldorf on the Autobahn.

    I cant imagine it.

    Really twice? That seems unfathomable to me although Corrie is jealous. She wishes she only saw snow once or twice a year.

    I’ve been through my share of hurricanes.
    although… I only missed one day of school due to hurricanes.
    Hurricane Floyd. 1987.

    You win. We don’t get those types of crazy weather in our neck of the woods. You can keep the hurricanes down your way and leave the snow to me!
